My earliest and fondest memories of my dearest cousin Carolyn are associated with this very time of year, Christmas. Each Christmas Day my family and I would travel to Carolyn's Mom and Dad's house, my aunt and uncle, in Mt. Vernon, NY. On this festive day, I can recall the laughter and sheer joy of my cousin Carolyn as she and my sister Jean, along with other family members, embraced the holiday. There was dancing and singing and joke/story telling, and oh how Carolyn loved it all. I think she loved it because Christmas was part of her personalty; a loving, giving, gentle and kind person. These special qualities would be reflected in her dedication of helping people in need in her professional life as a hospital nurse.
Throughout the years, without fail, Carolyn never forgot to call the members of my family on their birthdays to mark their special day. This small loving gesture meant so much to us and we will miss those special moments and our beautiful cousin. May God who has called Carolyn to be with him in paradise, cradle her in his loving arms forever.
