Arvil “Gene” France, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Bradenton Hospice House. Born in Pineville, Kentucky in January of 1942, he was son of the late Ardill and Lorrine (Collins) France. He worked as a union carpenter in Auburn, IN and together with his wife, Sharon, they started G & S Enterprise specializing in the manufacturing and selling of leather purses and belts. Upon retiring, they moved to “Sunny Shores” Bradenton, where he enjoyed Jesus, family, friends, helping others, yardwork and gardening. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle France Baral, his son, Mark France, his granddaughter, Amber France, his grandson, Baby David Powell and his siblings, Frank France, Harold France, Kenny France and Joy France Belcher. He will be remembered and missed by his wife of 47 years, Sharon (Brumbaugh) France; his children, Gene France II, Lisa (Bill) Agee, Michele (Dave) Powell, Christopher (Dana) Hedges, and daughter-in-law, Tina France; his 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Family will host visitation and services on Saturday, May 14th from 9:30 until 11am with a service starting 10:30am at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home Mausoleum Chapel. Inurnment will follow services in Skyway Memorial Gardens. The family has requested memorial contributions to Manatee Co.
