Gerald Lester "Jerry" Hallman, 74, of Doerun, GA, passed away Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at his home in Georgia. Jerry proudly and faithfully enlisted in the US Army, serving 4 tours in Vietnam and after 23 years retired in 1987. Jerry was a member American Legion Post 24, Bradenton and Disabled American Veteran’s Post 18 in Bradenton. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Vicki Karen Hallman (2016). He leaves behind daughters, Ruth (Desi Adams) Hallman of Bradenton and Annette (Daune) Stone of Columbiaville, MI; sisters Becki (John) Grisaffi of McAllen, TX and Alice Hallman Frietsch of Ruskin, FL; sister-in-law Virginia Hallman of Gaston, SC and brother-in-law Robert (Jan) Shaw of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren Abrahana Adams of Bradenton, FL, Alicia (Tyler) Johnson of Columbiaville, MI, Paul (Sara Taylor) Gingell of East Lansing, MI; great-grandchildren Rivyn Scofield and Tristen Johnson of Columbiaville, MI. Ceremonies will be held at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 US Hwy 19 North, Palmetto, FL on Friday June 9th. Funeral service at 10:00am and interment with Military Honors will follow at 11:00am in Skyway Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Skyway Memorial Funeral Home. In addition to flowers his family is encouraging donations be made to American Legion Post 24 in Bradenton FL and/or Disabled American Veterans Post 18 in Bradenton FL.
