Hi there will be no formal funeral James wanted no hoopla of that sort. If a group of friends want to gather and share memories go for it. We meaning myself other two brothers will bury James ashes when Vermont warms up 10 foot snow banks in yard at the moment thank you all for caring so much.
We have sad news from the Reed family to all of you.
I got the call around 8pm Tuesday night from my brother Curt. He says I have sad news. James was found dead in his home Tuesday during the day apparently he died Monday night, he was so exited earlier that day to be going back to work. Later at work he didn’t feel so good so his kind boss brought him home. He was so happy his last few days he had quit smoking like three weeks ago going to turn over a new leaf. He had cleaned out his home three days ago. He had cooked some nice meals in his croc pot he was so happy and feeling better. ..oh damn just damn I will miss you our whole family will miss you.

My God Father Jim was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor, loved his music and pets, loved his Rays as well, I have fond memories of spending the summer with him back when I was 12 years old at the state fair selling hearing aides at his booth that year and also attending an REO Speedwagon concert with him that same summer, which is a summer I will never forget !!! He will be missed and is in good hands now with the Lord ! Love you always your God daughter Renee

I knew James thru Facebook Posts. I regret never making his personal acquaintance. Knew he loved his Rays
and his music. And he was loved by many local Pinellas folks. I knew he had some medical issues but thought he had recently improved.
My condolences go out to his wife. May he rest in peace.

Our sincere sympathy to this wonderful gentleman's entire family. Met him about 6 years ago at Audible in Brandon. Showed us the video from Tropicana Field and told us great stories about his love for the Rays. Been FB friends with him for years and I know we will miss him. God bless you, James... Rest in peace.
