My dear Aunt Barbara was "one-of-a-kind"! She had a hearty laugh and loved her entire family -- extended included. She was always there to lend an ear; especially for medical advice; having helped me through a really difficult time in my life. She was also there just giving you solid advice; not judging. She would send cards to all her nieces and grand-nieces/grand-nephews instead of accepting social media as a fast way to communicate. She knew that going to the mailbox to retrieve a card for every holiday -- big or small -- never gets old! It is a cherished tradition.
She brought into the world and raised two beautiful, generous, kind, and most of all - fun children (my cousins) where her legacy will live on forever.
My phone has gone silent in her passing and I will miss her stories. She will be missed dearly in my heart.
Love and sadness abound....Rick, Wendy & Family
“Mrs. Cole” was what I called her, and she was absolutely the coolest and kindest best buddy’s mom I had all through college. I was, and remain, very close friends with Barbara’s son, David, a fellow Wilmington College graduate, from back in the early 90’s. Between college classes or flying lessons, Mrs. Cole was quick to whip up a sandwich or let me crash out on her couch for a nap. I was so sad to hear of her passing and my heart goes out to all her family. With all our love, Andy & Raquel Donelson
Dear Christen, David & family,
We hope that memories, the caring of others and the healing power of time will comfort you. I have great memories of when we were young and you were little children. I will miss your mom dearly and our conversations . She is with her beloved Frank in peace🙏🏼💕
Love, Charlette, Paul & Matthew
Barb and Frank were our best friends, and both are greatly missed. We have many great memories from the good times we had with them on 25+ cruises over the years. Barb and Frank are now back together. Our sympathy to Christin and Steve, David and Jennifer and their families, who we have also gotten to know over the years.
