Kelly, Anna Marie's Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Anna Marie Kelly, 66, on November 9, 2024. Born January 28, 1958, in McKenney, Virginia, Anna was the cherished wife of Douglas Kelly for 22 years and a devoted mother to Ashley (Josh) and stepmother to Chris and Cady. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Adriana and Gabriella, as well as her siblings Jane, Robin, Esther, John, and Jim. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends who were like family to her. Anna was predeceased by her parents, James Raleigh and Lena Bonner Byrd.
Anna’s early years on her family farm in McKenney shaped her enduring values of hard work and generosity. Whether raising crops and livestock or helping a neighbor, she embraced life with selflessness and kindness – qualities that defined her.
In Florida, Anna thrived in a 30-year career in property management, earning respect and admiration for her dedication. Upon retiring she rekindled her creativity, crafting handmade soaps and heartfelt art projects for her loved ones.
Anna found joy in life’s simplest pleasures: the serenity of the water, the beauty of sunrises and sunsets, and the soulful tunes of her cherished vinyl collection. A talented cook, she expressed her love through meals that brought people together and made everyone feel at home.
Above all, Anna will be remembered for her boundless generosity, her zest for life, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. Her legacy is one of kindness, warmth, and the unwavering joy of living fully.
To honor Anna’s memory, her family invites you to carry forward her spirit of compassion and joy. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please share your memories of Anna on her memorial page.
Anna, you will be deeply missed, but your love and light will continue to shine through all who knew you. May you rest in peace.
