Betty W Boyce's Obituary
Betty Wray Boyce, 90, went to be with the Lord and sing in the Angel's choir on August 30, 2021. Betty was born on February 06, 1931 in Rainelle, WV to William and Icie Walker. Betty worked as an educator and had a great passion for teaching; she held her masters degree in education where she was a teacher, ese specialist, and principal at a private school in Sarasota, FL. Betty was also on the State Boards in Education for FRA, and open court along with many other duties. Betty was an amateur archeologist and helped with a project in Turkey and spent time in the middle east. Betty's faith in Christ lead her around the world for volunteer missionary work in places like Yucatan, Mexico where she helped teach English to Mayans, Merida, Copan, Chechen, Guatemala, and Honduras. When Betty wasn't travelling, water skiing, working, leading church choir, bible study, or volunteering she was fondly be remembered for her elaborate large scale dinner parties and events for educators, church members and friends and family. Her attention to detail by writing skits, preforming, and even telling some puny jokes would always entertain the crowds and masses at these events. Not only did her attention to detail serve her well in these parties but also in her antique collections and designing of multiple homes including the one in Wedgewood Manor. Betty is survived by a son and daughter; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A visitation will be Friday September 03, 2021 from 10am-12pm with a service beginning at 12pm at Skyway Memorial Gardens 5200 US Highway 19 Palmetto, FL 34221.
