Bradley R Anderson's Obituary
Bradley Raymond Anderson “Brad”, 57, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2021. He was born on October 26, 1963 in Columbus, OH to Carl and Janet (Wright) Anderson.
Brad graduated from Beechcroft High School in Columbus and then attended Otterbein University in Westerville, OH. There he graduated with a degree in Broadcasting and Communications with plans to work in radio and television. He moved to Florida and worked in different capacities at local radio and television stations, including ABC affiliate Channel 40 (now ABC 7) in Sarasota. Brad married Suzanne Brouwer of Palmetto in 1992. The couple were married for almost 29 years and had three children.
As a child and young man, Brad enjoyed playing just about any sport. Later in life, due to declining health, Brad was no longer able to play, but loved watching sports, especially his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved spending time with his family on Anna Maria Island, camping and fishing.
Brad was preceded in death by parents Carl Anderson and Janet Cook (Wright), as well as his youngest brother, Brian Anderson. He is survived by family: Suzanne (Brouwer), sons Brian and Joshua, daughter Reagan, brothers Bart (wife Christine) and Bret from Columbus, sister Tiffany (husband Mark) from Worthington, OH, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins in both Florida and Ohio.
A funeral mass will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 4th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 505 26th St W Palmetto. Brad wished to be cremated and his remains returned to Columbus, OH. The family will be honoring his wish later this summer. Those who wish to remember Brad in a special way may make a donation in his memory to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation online at crohnscolitisfoundation.org. Arrangements by Skyway Memorial.
In lieu of a reception following the funeral mass, the family invite you to watch the sunset with them at one of Brad’s favorite spots on Anna Maria Island on Friday June 4th. Brad and his family spent many years vacationing at the Bali Hai on Anna Maria and he had a lot of wonderful memories there. There is a beach access just north of Bali Hai. The address is 6900 Gulf Drive Holmes Beach, FL 34217. If you’re able to join us for sunset, please bring a beach chair and wear something with one of Brad’s favorite colors, scarlet or gray (Ohio State University colors of course).
