Carol E Frantzman's Obituary
Carol E. (Mims) Frantzman of Palmetto, FL, passed away at home on March 10, 2022. She was born on June 18, 1947, in Bradenton, FL; she was the second of five daughters of the late William Pierce Mims and Esther Mims. Carol graduated from Manatee High School in 1965. She received her Cosmetology license and ran a successful hair salon, The Hair Affair, in Bradenton for decades. Upon retiring, Carol moved to Franklin, NC, with her husband, the late Dean Frantzman, to build her dream house on seven acres in the Smokey Mountains. She lived many years in North Carolina where she enjoyed gardening, crafting, and caring for her cows before returning to Florida upon the death of her husband.
Carol was a devout, lifelong Christian, and a member of Colony Baptist Church in Ellenton, FL. She enjoyed listening to sermons on the television as well as reading her Bible at home. She was a very giving woman, always willing to offer help to anyone in need. She spent time as a caregiver to her mother who suffered with Alzheimer’s and helped her daughter through the birth of her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Hope Vervoort (Jacco) of The Netherlands, and her grandchildren, Esmee Vervoort and Finn Vervoort. She also is survived by her four sisters: Linda Rio of Bradenton, June Hyatt of Bradenton, Gail Toledo of Parrish, and Penny Weingart of Oviedo, FL, who will all miss her deeply.
Services will be held March 26, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Skyway Memorial Gardens in Palmetto, Florida. Interment will follow at Skyway Memorial Cemetery. The family is using the services of Ellenton Florist or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her beloved church in her memory. Colony Baptist Church, 2920 US 301 N, Ellenton, Florida 34222.
