Charles Ruh's Obituary
Charles “Poppa” Ruh, 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Charles was born on May 28th, 1932 in Dubuque, Iowa to Viola (Reisdorf) Mosier and Harold Ruh. Charles was a decorated Army 1st Sargent. He also participated in many organizations including American Legion Post 312, VFW, NALC, DAV, AM Vet, and Moose Lodge. Best “Poppa” Ever! Loved by All! Never met a stranger. His unconditional love left an impression on the hearts of everyone he met. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Betty Ruh, daughter Cynthia J Surace, Sons: Robert J Reisdorf, Charles J. Reisdorf, Donald F. Reisdorf; and brother William A Ruh. Charles is survived by Patricia M (Rik) Swift of Belton, TX, Jody L (Kevin) Claus of Franklin, NC, Dawn M (Gene) of Reisdorf- Lawin, of Waterloo, IA, and Wendy S (Jeff) Marx of Bradenton, FL; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; and a host of other family and friends. A memorial service will be Monday November 20th, at 11am. A graveside service with military honors will be Monday November 20th at 12pm at Skyway Memorial Gardens 5200 US Highway 19 Palmetto, FL 34221.
