Charles Cortlandt Walton IV's Obituary
Charles Cortlandt Walton IV, 84, of Palmetto, FL passed away May 16, 2026 at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Charles was born September 23, 1941 in Washington DC, the son of Charles Cortlandt and Nancy (Berry) Walton III.
He married JoAn Bennett and she preceded him in death.
Charles retired from an esteemed career as a satellite scientist serving NOAA. He loved sailing on the open waters and kayaking. He was also an avid swimmer and tennis player. He is remembered as a kind and generous soul who lived life to its fullest.
Surviving are his children David Cortlandt Walton (Maricela) of Merida, Mexico, Christopher Berry Walton of Alexandria, VA; sister, Jane; cousin, Nancy, grandchildren, Alexandra, Rihanna and Samantha.
He was further preceded in death by his parents and his wife, JoAn.
A Celebration of Life may be announced at a later date.
