Darlene Roland Revels' Obituary
Darlene Roland Revels, 70, of Bradenton, FL passed away May 8, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Darlene was born in Cochran, GA to the late Joseph Daniel and Minnie Darcy Roland on May 19, 1945. The Roland family moved to Florida in 1955. She began her banking career as a teller with Palmetto Bank and Trust, which over the years changed names to Florida First Bank and eventually Wells Fargo. After several promotions and more than 20 years of dedicated service, Darlene retired as a Mortgage Processor. Darlene met, fell in love with and married John D. Revels, Jr and they began wonderful 26 years together. She enjoyed working around her house and returning to Georgia for visits and camping trips. Her greatest love of all was that for her family. Her smile, laugh, strength and courage have touched the lives of many people throughout the years. Darlene will be deeply missed by many.
Darlene is survived by her husband, John D. Revels, Jr., of Bradenton, FL, sons: Anthony E. Denney, of Sarasota, FL, Grandchildren: Tiffany Nicole Hindman, of Bradenton, FL, Brianna Paige Denney, of Sarasota, FL, Kevin Olson, of Sarasota, FL, great granddaughter, Kylie Elyce, brothers: Donald Roland, of Myakka City, FL, Daniel Roland, of Sun City, FL, sisters: Elsie Curles, of Bradenton, FL, sisters in law: Brenda Roland, of Bradenton, FL, Elouise Roland, of Myakka City, FL, Diane Roland, of Sun City, FL, 3 nieces, 2 great nieces and 4 nephews. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven Denney, grandson, Stephen Olson, brother, John Roland, and sister, Bonnie Burnett.
A private funeral service will be held on May 14, 2016. She will be laid to rest in Skyway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darlene’s honor may be made to Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton or Moffitt Cancer Center.
