David Stevens "Captain Steve" Burnstine's Obituary
David Stevens Burnstine, "Captain Steve," 68, of Palmetto, FL passed away April 16, 2016. Steve was born in Sterling, Illinois on April 16, 1948 to David and Elizabeth Stevens Burnstine. Steve grew up on the Rock River where he met the love of his life, Kimberly Hadfield. He proudly served our country during the Vietnam Conflict. After retiring from the steel mill, they moved from Illinois in 1999 and Steve began his sea career. He worked as a Sea Captain, Rescue for Hire, sea school instructor, completed marine surveys and transported goods to the oil fields.
Steve was a charming, adventurous man, who loved life and his family. He is deeply missed.
Steve is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kimberly Burnstine, of Palmetto, FL, son, Marc Burnstine, of Connecticut, daughter, Amy Burnstine, of Chicago, IL, half brother, Jan Digman, half sister, Jill Digman, and grandchildren; Ava, Ariel and Dane. Steve leaves behind many friends made along the way.
A Celebration of Steve's life was held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home.
