My husband was perfect with not a care in the world, no one could bother him. In fact when people bothered me, he always gave me a different perspective and told me to let it roll off my back. I wanted to be like him so much in that way, he had no anxieties and no worries. He was always looking for the next right thing to do, and he made sure he did it. He taught me so much and I wish he was still around to teach me so much more. Donald had a special fondness for the ocean, and any body of water that had fish in it. He had some special friends that he was able to enjoy going fishing with and spending time on the boat with his friends and their families. I never deprived him of that, we always allowed each other to do what we wanted to do as far as fun with friends was concerned. He loved me so much that he would even ask me if it was alright if he did something before he actually did it, and I always said yes. I can’t say enough about Donald on paper, but I will have each and every one of you to share stories with for a lifetime. He loved the Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, he loved watching movies and playing the Xbox, for Christmas on the first year that we were together I bought him a set of headphones specially for the Xbox so that he could play while I was asleep, he loved those headphones and he used them all the time, for as long as we were together. He was so considerate of others and polite. Never taking but always sharing and giving. He had so many special friends in the program of Narcotics Anonymous; friends that are priceless, friends that became brothers and sisters. He had a passion for always going that extra mile, at work, at play, and especially at home. He just recently, 5 months ago, landed a job doing what he loved, web design, he had attained a certificate for that in New Jersey before moving to Florida. He was so gifted in electronics, helping people fix their computers and building websites for his self to manage and gain profit from, and he was so proud of that. They were profitable, enough to pay the rent and his car payment both some months. I will do my best to carry on with those websites. He was active in his homegroup and in service. Holding the same sponsor and home group, recovery by the books for his entire recovery. Donald died with 6 and a half years clean. He got to live some of the best moments of his life because he was clean through this program. He just recently bought a brand new Toyota Tacoma, a 2016 standard edition pick up truck, he just got it in June right before our vacation up north. He wanted that truck so bad and he put his mind to it, he did the foot work to attain it and I backed him 100% on everything, I never would have told him no to any of his dreams, and he never would have told me no to mine. He was building cat trees and he was so good at it, he had already built 4 of them for our cats, Mable and Cally, he called them prototypes and he would have never sold them. His intention was to make more and eventually he and I would take them to the red barn flee market and sell them on the weekend as custom made cat trees, I want to try and live out that dream of his, too. That is particularly why he wanted to buy a truck, he wanted to be able to haul the cat trees and any materials that he would need from Home Depot or Lowes. He was a man of honor and a man of his word, he had so many good ideas and dreams and so did I. We were meant to carry those out together side by side, now I will carry those out in memory of him. I am so glad that I have Mable and Cally to go on with. He picked Cally out himself and we named her together. Cally will miss him rubbing her head with his feet each night. Mable will miss him picking her up and holding her close. I will miss him in every single way imaginable. He will miss us. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
