Donna Lee Racine's Obituary
Donna Racine passed away at the age of 59, peacefully with her husband of thirty-one years by her side, on January 17, 2016 in Palmetto, Florida, after a long and courageous fight with a relentless medical condition.
Donna was born in Concord, VT to Clayton and Shirley Moyse.
She went to the University of Vermont and graduated with a BSN, and was a Registered Nurse for 25 years prior to becoming ill. Donna enjoyed decorative painting, knitting, line dancing – west coast and east coast swing dancing and walks on the ocean beaches. She enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter with the Ascutney Volunteer Fire Department for approximately 15 years.
She is survived by her husband, Phil Racine now of Palmetto, Florida, niece Alicia Cass and nephew Cody, Donna’s aunts and uncles Vernon and Gloria Moyse of St. Johnsbury, Lorraine Leclair and husband Ervin of Hadley MA, and Irene Kell of Altoona Florida. Parents Clayton and Shirley Moyse predeceased her in 2013.
There will be no services and her ashes will be laid to rest in the ocean which she loved so much.
Donna was an extremely loving and caring individual. Even after her death, she made the donation of the organ that took her life in the hopes that researchers may find some answers to help others in the future.
Memorial contributions could be made to the Ascutney Volunteer Fire Department, 540 route 131, Ascutney, VT. 05030 c/o Chief Spaulding to benefit the fire prevention fund in which she believed in strongly. Donna believed children should be taught basic fire prevention skills at an early age so that they may have the opportunity to build upon them as young adults.
