Mrs. Dorothy Marcella Godwin's Obituary
Dorothy “Marcella” Godwin, born August 30, 1940 in Sarasota , Florida
to parents Marcy and Dorothy Lang . Marcella went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2017.
Marcella married her sweetheart, Robert, known only to her as Bubba, on July 3, 1955.
She enjoyed being a mother, homemaker, and working along side her husband in the construction business.
One of her greatest joys has been raising her children and grandchildren.
Marcella, known to her family as Mom, Mema, Aunt Cella, Mrs. Robert D. Godwin, loving wife, loving mother, loving grandmother, and friend to all.
She helped so many people time and time and time again, and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Godwin, son, Danny Godwin, daughters , Hope Godwin, Bonnie Godwin, Tracey Curtis, son- in- law, Mike Curtis, brother, Earl “Bud” Lang, and sister, June Adams.
Marcella is predeceased by daughter, Tina B. Godwin, grandson, Michael L. Curtis,
and sister, DeeDee Perez.
Robert and Marcella have (5) children, (9) grandchildren, and (2) great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren include Gina Harris, Lauren Robinson, Holly Hertzog, Alexis Godwin, Grace Godwin, Coy Godwin, Mason Godwin and Wes Godwin.
Great-grandchildren include Dawson Harris, and Gavin Hackney.
Mom, thank you for your devotion, your sacrifices, your compassion, and your unconditional love to all of our family.
You will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Skyway Community Chapel, 512 61st Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221 on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Services to celebrate Marcella’s life will begin at 1:30 p.m. Flowers may be received at Skyway Community Chapel.
