Dorothy Margaret Hawley's Obituary
Dorothy Margaret Hawley, 97, passed away July 2, 2014. She was born June 28, 1917 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Gustav and Anna (Textor) Millat. Dorothy was lovingly called Muffy by her father. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Hawley, Sr.; and 8 siblings.
Dorothy married Lloyd in December 1938 and they came to Manatee County 64 years ago from Dayton, Ohio. She was a Protestant, a member of the Eastern Star, member of the WBCCI which was an Air Stream Travel Trailer organization. Her husband was the past president of the NCT National RV Club in which they were active. Dorothy had been an avid bowler and loved sewing and crafts of all kind. She also enjoyed combing the beach and traveling by RV throughout Central and North America.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia Jordan and her husband Donald of Lutz, Florida; son, Lloyd Hawley, Jr. and his wife Paula of Orting, Washington; sister, Annie Beall; brothers, Robert Millat and his wife Dee and Herb Millat, all of Dayton, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, John, Donald Jr., Kevin, Michael, Steven, David, Connie and Christine; and 17 great-grandchildren.
There will be a funeral ceremony on Thursday, July 10th, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Skyway Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 5200 US Highway 19 N., Palmetto, Florida 34221. Interment will follow in Skyway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
