Earletta Faye Balfour Maples' Obituary
Earletta Faye Balfour Maples completed her earthly life on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. She was born in November of 1941 in Michigan. She was the fifth of seven children born to Earl D. Balfour and M. Irene Martin Balfour. Earletta was always busy and lived life to the fullest. She lived her life in Michigan and in Florida. She loved her family, hummingbirds, golfing, walking and helping everyone she met. Earletta attended First Presbyterian Church in Bradenton, Florida. She was very active in the Manatee Memorial Foundation Auxiliary. Earletta was called “Their Miracle Volunteer”.
Earletta attended the following schools: Terry School, Almost Elementary, Dryden Elementary, and She graduated from Dryden High School in 1959.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and three sisters, Vicki Phillips, Joyce Haas, Eileen Day, one brother, David Balfour, and two grandsons, Robert Dusendang and Jaime Krause.
Earletta is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Maples of Bradenton, Florida. One son, Martin Krause and one daughter Karen Winters and husband, Ted; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a very special niece, Karen Gonzalez and husband, Vincent and daughter, Sydney. One brother, Neil Balfour and wife, Charlene, all of Michigan. One sister, Martha Brewer and husband Clarence from West Virginia. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and so very many friends.
Earletta will be greatly missed by everyone that crossed her path in this life. A visitation for family and friends will take place at Skyway Memorial on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held in January of 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Bradenton, FL. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee or First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, Florida.
