Edith Slaughter's Obituary
Edith Melissa Hudson Slaughter, 91, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Cairo, Georgia, she came to Bradenton from Perry, Florida in 1959. She was employed for many years at A&P and Publix Supermarkets. She was a faithful charter member of Braden River Baptist Church which originally met at her home in 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel N. Slaughter, and she leaves two daughters, Sandra (Bruce) Babbit, Sarasota, FL; Cheryl (Tommy) Nelson, Grayson, LA and son, Hudson (Michele) Slaughter of Ellenton, FL; sister, Sarah Goodman, Burlington, NC; five grandchildren, Melissa Moreland, Ryan Slaughter, Brooke Yarborough, Jared and Colton Cason; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Evan and Lucas Moreland and Ella Slaughter. Visitation (10am) and Services (11am) will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1616 59th Street West, Bradenton, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to Great Grace Ministries, PO Box 213, Grayson, LA 71435.
