Edwin C Bennett's Obituary
Edwin C. Bennett, 86, of Palmetto, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 24, 2021. Born June 11, 1935 in London, England, he was the son of the late Leonard and Dora (Fellows) Bennett. Ed also lived in Toronto Canada, Cleveland Ohio, Chicago Illinois, and for the past 24 years in Palmetto Florida. He enjoyed travel and cruises and had visited almost every corner of the world. He loved a good party or celebration, was a teller of jokes and stories and could be quite the life of the party. He was a competitive card and chess player. If he took on a task, he threw his whole self into it. He worked hard both during his working years as a banker and during retirement with various organizations and associations.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Janet (Lawrence) Bennett. May he rest in peace as he joins Janet for eternity.
He was loved and will be missed by his family (his son, Richard C. Bennett; his daughter, Karen B. (Rick) Lanese; his grandchildren, Amanda, Nicoletta, Nicholas and Zachary; his great-grandson Abel); and by his many friends and acquaintances.
Other than a small family gathering, no services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his honor would be appreciated. He loved attending theatre in Bradenton and Sarasota and his grandchildren’s dance performances while at Manatee School for the Arts in Palmetto. Arrangements entrusted to Skyway Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens.
