Frank J Holden's Obituary
Frank Joseph Holden, 73, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday, April 23, 2021. Frank was born on May 30, 1947 to the late Katherine Donofrio in Manhattan, NY. Frank spent most of his life in Chester County, PA until relocating to Manatee County, FL in 2000 where he resided until his passing. Frank graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School (Class of 65) where he excelled in wrestling, track (discus throw), and football. Frank then attended Memphis State University and played offensive tackle on the football team. Frank attended the PA State Police Southeastern Training Center where he earned the Achievement Award for the most outstanding trainee in his class. Frank was a police officer for North Coventry Township Police and later for Pottstown Borough Police. He served as West Pottsgrove Chief of Police from 1977-1983 and Police Chief of the Borough of Schwenksville from 1990-2000. He acted as Deputy Game Protector for the PA Game Commission from 1971-1974. After relocating to Florida in 2000 Frank began a new career at Port Manatee Seaport and advanced to Senior Director of Operation and Security prior to his retirement in 2014.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years Judith (Miller) Holden; 2 loving daughters: Melissa Bosley (Randy) Palmetto, FL, and Saresse Fortman of Pottstown, PA; Cherished granddaughter Kaitlynn Bosley, Palmetto, FL, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunt and uncle Darline and Larry Mauger, Pottstown, PA. Frank had many wonderful friends and felt lucky and blessed to have them. Frank lived a full and high spirited life. His many interests included spending time with family and friends, and being in the company of his cherished cats Blackie and Stripey, traveling, hunting, fishing, archery, golfing, photography, flying, and shooting sporting clays. He was a licensed taxidermist, pilot, flight instructor, Sea Captain and firearms instructor. He received countless awards and accommodations in many of these fields.
