Today my family laid to rest one of the most influential men in my life, my grandfather Frank. He was a World War II hero, father figure to my dad and his childhood friends, excellent fisherman, and wildly successful painter of homes. He has touched so many lives, but most important to my brother Matt and I was that he was a loving grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Frank was Honorably Discharged from the Army of the United States, October 3, 1945. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, and an European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. He was a private first class. Battles and campaigns: Normandy Northern France GO 33 WD 45 and Rhineland GO WD 45.

Frank was Honorably Discharged from the Army of the United States in 1945. He served in the African Theatre as an MD Reconditioning ( forgive me if I do not get this exactly right ) - Battles and Campaigns: Normandy, Northern France GO 33 WD 45 and Rhineland GO 40 WD 45. He was awarded a Good Conduct Metal, and a European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Metal. Again forgive me, we have two memories: one Franknwas a Medic, another he was a radio operator. Frank came into my mom's life when she and I had very little. He was a good husband and a good dad. He gave my mom her first house she could call her own home. We all miss you very much. Thanks to all his family and friends for sharing his love.
To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
I will carry my memories of Frank in my heart forever.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his Family.
