Franklin H Cole's Obituary
Franklin H. Cole, 82, passed away on December 20, 2020 at Manatee Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 22, 1938 in Danville, PA to father Robert F. Cole, and mother Martha Long. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Barbara; three daughters: Christin Eley and husband Steve Hodgkinson of Bradenton, FL, Cynthia Schroth of Newark, DE, Sharon Cole of Gainesville, FL; one son David Eley and wife Jennifer of Middletown, DE; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother Steve and his wife Ann; one sister Charlotte Chris Cole; and a host of other family and friends. Frank graduated from Berwick High School in 1956, graduated from Goldy Beacom College in Wilm, DE, graduated from PMC Chester, PA and the University of Virginia School of Retail Banking. He was employed at Wilmington Trust Bank for 42 years, retired in 1999 as Vice president and Division Manager and then moved to Bradenton, FL. He served on the board of the New Castle Chamber of Commerce in Delaware and served in the Air National Guard for six years. Frank enjoyed playing golf, boating, reading and traveling with his wife Barbara. His favorite vacation was taking the children and grandchildren on a Disney Cruise. He said his life changing moment was when he married Barbara. His career and civic accomplishments were helping small businesses start and grow through his work with new Castle County Chamber of Commerce. Due to Covid a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Private family interment at Skyway Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Diabetes Association or Christ Presbyterian Church 515 Upper Manatee River Road Bradenton, FL 34212 are preferred in lieu of flowers.
