Buckine II, Freeman's Obituary
Freeman Buckine II was born on January 29, 1951 in Bradenton, Florida to the late Freeman Buckine and Allie Mae Brown Buckine.
On Thursday, September 11, 2025, he was called home from labor to reward. On this day the Lord said, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, and older brothers, Theodore Jenkins Jr and Fred L. Buckine, Esq. His wife Faye also preceded him in death.
Freeman attended the public schools of Manatee County, Florida and graduated from Lincoln Memorial High School. He was a member of Ward Temple AME Church in Bradenton, Florida where he found the Lord at an early age.
Freeman enlisted in the Air Force after graduating high school where he served honorably and retired with full honors. He lived in Tampa, Florida for several years to care for his nieces, Peggy and Laura Buckine. He then relocated back to Bradenton to be close to family and friends.
Freeman was an avid supporter of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where his niece Peggy graduated, and he donated regularly to the alumni association on her behalf. He thoroughly enjoyed attending homecoming and the Florida Classic with his best friends, Billy and Pop, and did so until the end.
He leaves to mourn two sister-in laws, Peggy Quince, (Tampa, Florida) and Ruth Jenkins, (Atlanta, Georgia). His favorite nieces Peggy and Laura (Baltimore, Maryland). Cousins, Renee Knight, (Alabama), Monica Grey-Childs, (Connecticut), Leigh Grey, (Florida), Courtney Harris, (New York), Valerie Atwater, (North Carolina). And a host of other relatives and friends.
