Dr. George J Cajoleas' Obituary
George J. Cajoleas, DMD, passed away May 28, 2015 after a courageous battle against Lymphona for 16 years. He was born March 5, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to John George and Katherine Cajoleas. Dr. Cajoleas was a graduate of Manatee County High School class of 1956, St. Pete Junior College, graduated from Florida State University in 1960, and graduated from the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry in Birmingham in 1964. He was avid golfer having three Holes-in-One to his credit. He also served as a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy as a dentist at Paris Island, SC and Key West, FL for two years. He opened his own practice in Bradenton in 1966. His memberships included past president of Jaycees, Hernando Desoto Conquistadors, past president of the Sarasota-Manatee Dental Society in 1978-1979, Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Board 1970-1973. Dr. Cajoleas was preceded in death by his son John Cajoleas. He is survived by his wife Sarah, Children Cathi Cajoleas Rodgers, Christopher Carter Cajoleas (Juliana), stepdaughter Theresa Lewis, Grandchildren Christopher Michael Rodgers, Ryan Scott Rodgers, brother Theo (Sheryl) Cajoleas, sister Kally Jakubic (Steve), and canine "daughter" Molly. A visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2015 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home 720 Manatee Ave. W. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 11:00 AM at St. George's Episcopal Church 913 63rd Ave. W. Bradenton. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society , 3319 Maguire Blvd. suite 101. Orlando, FL 32803.
