Gordon Halliday's Obituary
Gordon Halliday, age 90, of Palmetto, Florida, passed away in Bradenton, Florida on June 22, 2026. He was born in Dumfries, Scotland to James bailey and Mary Johnston. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Betty McCaig and Anne Halliday, and one brother John Halliday. Gordon enjoyed playing golf with friends, doing crossword puzzles, watching sports and his favorite teams were NY Mets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Scotland Soccer. He was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge of Palmetto. Gordon leaves his cherished memories to his loving wife of 62 years, Vina Halliday; two sons Gordon J. Halliday (Ann) and George Halliday; four daughters Grace Halliday, Mary Anderson (Martin), Vina Halliday, and Anne Halliday-Fuentes (Geraldo); fourteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at Palm View First Baptist Church, 415 49th Street East, Palmetto, Florida 34221. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6:00 pm at the church. Cremation will follow the services under the care of Skyway Memorial Funeral Home.
