Harold Stanley Lasley's Obituary
Harold "Stanley" Lasley passed away February 21, 2016. He was born in Floris, Iowa in 1919, to the late; Percy and Mamie Davis Lasley. .
The last of the greatest generation this country has seen, he served in the U.S. Army Air Forces, 445th Bomb Squadron, 321st Bomb Group, 57th Bomb Wing during WWII from August 1st, 1942 to September 12, 1945 and deployed to the Mediterranean theatre of combat operations as Crew Chief of the B25 named "Poopsie" which is now on display at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. After the end of WWII he continued his service to his country in the Korean War and ultimately retiring from service as a Master Sergeant on October 28th, 1953. Upon his return home he gained employment with the U.S. Postal Service and remained there for 20 years. He joined the VFW and to my knowledge was one of the Oringinal members of post 2488 when it was commissioned and served as commander of post 2488 for 12 years. Harold made an impact on every life he touched. Harold was a role model and taught his children and grandchildren many other things about hard work, Selflessness, Honor, perseverance, and Devotion to service. He will be sorely missed by his family and post 2488.
Harold is survived by his wife, Robena Lasley, sons; Orrin Lasley, daughters; Carol Hodges, Edna Fredenburgh, Gina Bartley, Terri Barger, step daughters; Beth Frappier, Deanna Cobb, 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles Lasley and sister, Delores Lasley.
