Howard and Laura Serena's Obituary
Mr. Howard Louis Serena and his wife of 73 years, Mrs. Laura Virginia Serena, both passed away in Gainesville, Florida, May 15, 2016 and May 20, 2016, respectively. The bond they shared was so strong that they passed within five days of each other. Their undying love once touched hearts across the globe when a video in which Howard sings to Laura their love song “You’ll Never Know” went viral. They are survived by their nine children, Laurie Lacey (Jim), Bob Serena (Betty), Howie Serena (Nancy), Sue Ellen Johnson (Gary), JoAnn Solari, Gina Hare (Stephen), Dean Serena, Frank Serena and Mary Serena; eighteen grandchildren, Jimmy Lacey, Michael Lacey, Gina Serena, Serena Zea, Bobby Serena, Sarah Orvis, Mark Johnson , Joseph Johnson, Erin Solari, Jason Solari, Stephen Hare and Joshua Hare, Jonathon Serena, Anna Serena, Becca Serena, David Serena, Joel Serena and Kristiian Serena and eleven great grandchildren and one on the way.
The funeral service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on July 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
