Howard Barnes Thompson DDS's Obituary
Howard B. Thompson, DDS, 80, died March 15, 2015, at his home in Sun City Center, Florida. He was born September 18, 1934, in Durant, OK. Dr. Thompson graduated from Labette Community College in Parsons, KS; Pittsburg State University; and the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he also completed graduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Before his retirement, he maintained an active oral surgery practice in Hutchinson, Wichita, and Great Bend. Dr. Thompson married Charlotte James in 1954; she preceded him in death in 1996. They had two children, Nancy Twillman, of Lenexa, KS, and Jane Thompson, of Austin, TX, and one granddaughter, Talia Twillman. Dr. Thompson married Maxine Till on January 17, 1998, in Hutchinson; she survives him. He is also survived by his step-children, Craig Till, of Jacksonville, FL; Melissa Whitfield, of Fort Mill, SC; and Steven Till, of Sumter, SC; and 11 step-grandchildren. His brother, the Rev. Fred W. Thompson, of Overland Park, KS, also survives, along with two nieces. Dr. Thompson was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
