James Winfrey Miller's Obituary
James (Jay or JW) Winfrey Miller passed away on Friday, November
21, 2014 of pneumonia in Bradenton, Florida. He is survived by his
Brother, Eugene Miller; his children, James Thomas Miller, Janna
Miller Barenghien and Tanya Miller Wires; and three grandchildren,
Luc Barenghien, Emilie Barenghien and Brice Wires. Jay was born in
Louisville, KY in 1933 and spent much of his childhood in
Campbellsville and Bowling Green, KY. He joined the Air Force
Academy shortly after his second year in college (1954) to pursue his
dream of becoming a pilot. After graduating from the Academy he
began flying USAF weather reconnaissance missions in the pacific
and later military airlift command missions in Vietnam flying the C-
130 Hercules and C-135s. Jay had a successful career with the USAF
before retiring as Major. He settled in Palmetto/Bradenton area where
he has resided for most of his life until passing away at the age of 80
in the company of his loving family at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
He will be laid to rest at Skyway Memorial Gardens with his mother
Lucile Miller and his father Clyde Miller. Wishing Jay a smooth
flight, level wings and an easy landing. We will miss him dearly.
