James Albert Tucker Jr.

James Albert Tucker was born in Okeechobee, Florida, on September 10, 1948. He is the son of James Albert Tucker Sr. and Ramona (Arnold) Shipes. He was an avid photographer and loved animals, music, and traveling the backroads of Florida and meeting people, reading classical literature and enjoying all things regarding Florida history and Caribbean culture. He previously owned and operated 2 equipment sales newspapers and also served in the Merchant Marine service for a time. Mr. Tucker had 1 brother and 2 sisters: Charles Arnold Tucker (deceased); Kathleen Mary Watson of Palm City, FL and Dixie Lee Church of Hobe Sound, FL. He married Ruby (Tinky) Pugh of Stuart, Florida in 1965 and had 2 sons: James Albert Tucker III (m. to Brenda) and Frederick Melvin Tucker (m. to Sandra) of Canyon, TX. Mr. Tucker is also survived by 4 grandchildren: granddaughters Gabrielle and Galaxee - both of Chiba, Japan and grandsons Ryan and Ty – both of Canyon, Texas. A 5th grandchild - Evan Frederick Tucker - born in 2005, deceased in 2005. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Tucker will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Skyway Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
