Jane A. Waggoner's Obituary
Mrs. Jane A. (Barker) Waggoner, was raised in Sheridan, IN and lived in Noblesville, IN before moving to Ellenton, FL. She was promoted to glory on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 71.
Jane was born to parents Gene and Virginia Barker on August 17, 1947 in Lebanon, IN and grew up as the eldest of three. In 1965, Jane graduated from Sheridan High School, married the love of her life, Tom Waggoner of Zionsville, IN, and graduated from Indiana Business College. She worked as secretary to the superintendant of Maconaquah School Corporation and began working for Indiana Bell before Tom served in Vietnam from 1967-1968. Jane retired from Lucent Technologies in 1997.
Jane is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter, Kim Jones (Shane); grandson, Keegan (Rachael); granddaughter, Maris; brother, Floyd Barker (Patty); sister, Judy Jurisic (Jeff); and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and served as a Sunday school teacher, AWANA Bible Club leader, and went on several domestic and foreign short-term mission trips.
Jane was a godly example for Christ. She mentored and encouraged many people through the years, and all were blessed by her spiritual gift of hospitality. Jane enjoyed cooking, playing cards, board games, travel, and especially all activities with family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service held at Harbour Shores Church, 8011 East 216th Street, Cicero, IN 46034 officiated by Pastor Stephen Schultze. The service will be held on Sat., March 30th at 12:00pm and family will begin greeting visitors at 9:00 a.m. A private interment service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Jane has requested contributions be sent to Tri-Grace Ministries, c/o Shane and Kim Jones, 96 E. Center St., Ephraim, UT 84627 or the Mesothelioma Association.
