John Benson was an incredibly intelligent man with a magnetic personality to match. John was somehow both a numbers guy, and a very talented artist.
His sense of humor was unmatched along with his headstrong determination, and unyielding wit.
John spent his well deserved retirement sitting by his much loved pool, usually accompanied by a cat or two. One could always find him triumphantly gazing over his domain; with a crossword puzzle in one hand, and a scratch-off ticket in the other.
John made his departure the same way he lived his life: on his terms. He is survived by his mother; Carmela Zorda Nichols; wife, Sarah G. Benson; daughter, Lindsey Anne Benson; his beloved granddaughter, Olivia Sage. She was the light of his life, and will miss terrorizing her Papa greatly.

I am Johnny’s Aunt Linda. I remember at a very young age Johnny was very independent. He fixed his own breakfast at a young age. My Mother adored him and his sister. She babysat often with them. I was proud of his work ethics and his faithfulness to his marriage and daughter. He was a very bright man. I think he thought I was nutty but later respected my faith. God rest his soul.
