John Potter's Obituary
John L. Potter, 77, of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Muncie, IN, passed away October 24, 2015. John was born and raised in Muncie and moved to Bradenton, FL in 1984. He served our country in the US NAVY from 1955-1959. In 1962, he married Shelby Jean Moore, who passed away at the age of 35, leaving behind John and their 3 daughters. John was an amazing father, grand father and great grandpa. He worked most of his life in the dry cleaning business. John was a generous man, with a heart of gold, who never met a stranger. He enjoyed flirting, embarrassing his children and "stirring the pot," just to see their responses. He was a music lover and sang tenor. Above all, he loved his family.
John is survived by his daughters; Kimberly Potter, of Bradenton, FL, Theresa Ballor (Ed Lomski), of Arcadia, FL, Brenda Murray (Ken Seligman), of TX, sister, Jean Hurdle, of Indiana, grandchildren; Jada, DJ, Jamie, Josh, Jordan, Chelse, Tyler, great grandchildren; Alyssa, Chloe, Riley and a great grand daughter due in March any many more extended children and Grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents; Charles Willard Potter and Bertha Louise Bicknell Potter.
Services will be held at a future date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Skyway Memorial Funeral Home, Palmetto, FL.
