John Edward Smith's Obituary
John E. Smith, 77, lifelong resident of Bradenton, Florida passed away on July 9, 2016. John was born in Tampa on September 9, 1938, to the late; John and Mamie McKenzie Smith. John was a happy go lucky, family man, with a quick wit and strong work ethic. He worked most of his life as a custodian in the hotel industry, always providing the best for his family. John was a member of the Church of Christ in Bradenton.
John E. Smith is survived by his sons; Kenneth Carter, of Palmetto, FL, Michael (Gail) Carter, of Bradenton, FL, daughters; Selestine (Willie) Sams, of Bradenton, FL, Sonya McDuffie, of Atlanta, GA, Cynthia (Anthony) Frost, of Atlanta, GA, 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, brother in law, Otis (Juanita) Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death in 1985 by his beloved wife, Claudia Smith, parents, sister, Louise Peterson, daughter, Gwendolyn Mitchell and his grandson, Brian Hines.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Smith will be laid to rest following the service at Skyway Memorial Gardens.
