John Robert Vogel's Obituary
John R. Vogel, 96, of Sun City Center, FL. passed peacefully on January 2, 2025. He was born September 7, 1928, in Pittsburgh PA. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was employed at MAI Sorbus (later Bell South) for 23 years, retiring to Florida in the Tampa area. He won many accolades during his career and was honored multiple years for being their top Sales Representative securing computer maintenance contracts and was able to fulfill his love of traveling as he was awarded many trips to other countries as a reward for his high achievements.
He is proceeded death by his parents, John T. Vogel and Vesta Chilton, both of Pittsburgh; his three younger brothers, Artie, Rich, and Ed; his beloved wife, Marilyn Loeffert Vogel (1996); 2nd wife, Audrey (2013); his two sons, Eric L. Vogel of West Hamlin WV. (2018); and Glenn R. Vogel (2020) of Inverness, FL.
Survivors include his daughters-in-law, Sandra K. Vogel of West Hamlin, W.V; and Sandra G. Vogel of Inverness, FL; grandchildren, Adam Vogel of West Hamlin, WV, Erica (Jonathan) Clark of Lavalet, WV, John Vogel of New Port Richey, FL, and Laura (Jeffrey) D'Alvia of Inverness, FL; and six great grandchildren, Breanna, Randy, Isiah, Riley, Alyssa, and Adalynn.
John loved his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, playing the organ, building model planes, doing Sudoku, and putting jigsaw puzzles together with his many friends at The Inn at Plaza West Assisted Living Facility where he resided the last years of his life. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
