Johnna Jean Norment's Obituary
Johnna Jean Norment (52) was freed from her battle with cancer on July 12, 2023 in Bradenton, FL. She was born on July 6, 1971 and was the very proud daughter of Mom and "Daddly" , Florence "Flo" Campbell, and John Lightnin Campbell. Johnna grew up on the docks of Cortez Fishing Village spending every minute she could with her very large 5th generation Commercial Fishing Family. Cortez was where she cherished her most special memories growing up from packing fish with her mom and aunts, to shadowing her Dad and Uncles while they mended net, and worked on the "Lady Flo" and other family boats, or running around with her siblings and "hundreds" of Cortez Cousins and laughing with her Aunts. She attended Bayshore High School and would later pursue an Associates degree at Manatee Community College. She was an extremely smart woman, and gave credit to being an avid book enthusiast, she could finish a book as fast as she opened it. "The test is not just something hard to do, the test is knowing you can do it." Ayla, "The Clan of the Cave Bear" by Jean M Auel.
In addition to her mother, she was predeceased in death by her son Christopher Lee Baker, and daughter Sailor Jean Norment. She is survived by Father, John Lightnin Campbell, Daughter Brittany Ferrero and husband Chris of Bradenton, FL , Daughter Whittany Perry and Husband Brandon, of Elkhart, IN, grandchildren; Hayley Hershberger, Kairi Ferrero, Conner Stoddard, Andrew Ferrero, Bella Scholl, Gavin Allen, Justin Perry, Alexander Perry, and Scarlett Perry, Sister Candy Tison and husband John, brother John Roberts and wife Jennifer, dear friends Vincent Upchurch and Steve Wrzesniewski and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
A celebration of life will be later scheduled at Star Fish Company in Cortez Village, and in lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Local Organization, "Mothers Helping Mothers"
