Mr. Joseph R Roberto's Obituary
Joseph Richard Roberto, 90, of Bradenton FL passed away on May 12, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born October 4th, 1926 to William and Rose Roberto in Greenwich, CT, the 4th of 5 children. Joe attended Greenwich Schools and after serving in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Roosevelt, he continued his education at NYU and Columbia University.
Before retiring to Florida in 1993, he was the Medical Director of the 2 medical building laboratories in Greenwich.
Joe leaves behind his wife of 50 years Barbara (nee Kepple) Macy, 4 sons William Roberto, Joseph (Evelyn) Roberto, John (Elaine) Macy II, and Nelson Macy III; granddaughters Kathryn, Roxanne, Rachael and Sarah Roberto; grandsons Ian Ross Macy and Damien Roberto; brother Pat Roberto and Sisters Theresa Bria and Francesca DiGiorgio. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Mary Capalbo and son John Roberto.
In addition to his great love for his family, his passions were golf, gardening and skiing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a master storyteller. He and Barbara were former members of the Milbrook Club in Greenwich and current members of the River Wilderness Golf and Country Club in Parrish, FL.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Skyway Memorial Funeral Home. He’ll be laid to rest in Old Greenwich, CT. A celebration of life will be held sometime in June.
