Joyce Cooley's Obituary
Joyce Earl Cooley, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2020. She was born on February 17, 1932. In September 1955 she married Paul E. Cooley and they left for Africa in late 1956. The Mission first sent them to Zambia where they served in a variety of ministries including church planting, Biblical teaching in local schools, administrating a conference center, and extensive radio and television work for the local stations and Trans World Radio. After 26 years in Zambia they moved to the nation of South Africa to work in the Mission to the Miners program around Johannesburg. In 1993 the Cooleys retired from AEF and went to Florida to live in Bradenton Missionary Village. For Joyce the retirement from missionary work did not mean the end to ministry. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Paul. She is survived by her four children, Pamela (Paul) SHEROUSE of Florida, Paul J. (Cynthia) COOLEY of Texas, Philip (Cheryl) COOLEY of Texas and Peta (Craig) HARRISON of South Africa; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. The family will be conducting a private service at this time and then later a Celebration Memorial Service. Interment at Skyway Memorial Palmetto FL.
