Juan Godinez Medina's Obituary
Juan Godinez Medina, 49, of Palmetto, FL passed away suddenly January 28, 2016. Juan was born in Mexico and moved to Chicago as a young adult. While living in Chicago, he was friended by and taken under the wing of Bill Christopoulos and family. He learned the business of wholesale produce. Twenty years ago, and again under the guidance and support of the Christopoulos family, he relocated to Palmetto, where he began working for Kostas Family Restaurant. Juan's dedicated work ethic would eventually lead him to become a partner in Palmetto's dining establishment. He loved the customers, could greet them by name and considered many of them to be friends and family. Juan Godinez Medina was a man of integrity, a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Although his presence here on earth seems to have been too brief, his memory will last a lifetime.
Juan Godinez Medina is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Raquel Medina, mother, Maria Luisa Medina Contreras, brothers;Gorge Godinez, Alejandro Godinez, Emilio Godinez, sisters; Rosa Godinez, Blanca Nely Godinez, Tereza Godinez, nieces, nephews and many friends made throughout the years.
Visitation hours will be Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Skyway Memorial Funeral Home from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Palmetto. He will the be laid to rest at Skyway Memorial Gardens.
