I had the honor of walking Sunne while Judie was adjusting to her prosthetic leg and motorized wheelchair. I loved our conversations when I would bring her dog back after the walks and she would tell me about her travels. She was very humble so I didn’t know exactly what she did for a living. I assumed that she had broke through many ceilings and traveled to the world. She took me under her wing when I told her I wanted to learn how to golf. I was really hoping we would get a chance to golf someday together. I can’t imagine a better coach . She took great pride in and found it humorous that her PT staff were so surprised when she was walking and driving way ahead of schedule. Clearly, they did not know her and her tenacity. In my short time, knowing Judie, I knew there was not a goal that she set for herself that she could not achieve. She was determined to find a way To mount that pooper scooper on her motorized wheelchair so she could walk Sunne herself. She and I would walk Sunne around the block while she held onto Sunne and navigated her motorized wheelchair. Judy, of course, laughed when she would get stuck in people‘s yards with the wheelchair trying to pick up the poop. Judie gave me strength and inspiration during a very difficult time while I was trying to navigate my mom’s failing health. I will miss her terribly.
