Kathaleen "Kat" Swilley Porter's Obituary
Kathaleen “Kat” Swilley Porter was born October 16, 1943, in Bradenton, Florida to the late John and Lola Swilley. At an early age Kat gave her life to Christ and was a member of Ward Temple AME.
Kat was educated in the Manatee County Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School, in 1961. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, supportive grandmother, and great grandmother.
Kat married Edward Lee Porter Sr. and out of that union she had three children, Jeffery Porter (deceased), Edward Porter Jr. (deceased)-(Arlene) and Sondra Porter (deceased). Kat was employed with the Shopping Guide company for many years. Kat passion was reading and watching her daytime soaps. During these times no one could disturb her and she was not going anywhere nor answering the phone. “This was her time.”
Kat is survived by her husband Edward Porter Sr., one sister Rose Swilley Bacon, brothers and sisters preceded in death Jonie Swilley James, Dorothy Swilley Quick, Violet Swilley Thomas, Calvin Swilley, Alphonso L. Swilley, Loradean Swilley Woodie, Denise Swilley and Demetruis Earl Swilley: one Goddaughter, Fredrika Cookie Bethany (Paul), Granddaughters Ashley Porter, Jilnese Brown, Saneta Adderley, Adrianna Conley, Octavia Callahan, Terraza Adams and A ‘Maria Jones; Grandsons Edward Walker, Calvin Yancy (Alexis), Jerald White (Jackie) Roshawn Yancy, Christopher Hannon, Tracey Porter, Carlton Conley Sr.(Christina) Anthony White, Jerald White and Octavius Callahan Greatgrand, Zy’Air Za’Niaue Mabry, Rodarius Brown, Skyler Yancy, Tyrell Terrell Pearson, Carlton Conley Jr., Leonte Joiner, Gabrielle Johnson, Adrianna Conley, A ‘Mari Shuler, Courtney Anderson and Kayla Barkley. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
