Kathleen M. Lyden's Obituary
Kathleen M. Lyden, 80, of Bradenton, FL passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Silver Creek, NY, she was one of three children of the late Lester and Wilma (Wasmand) Newton. Kathleen was raised and attended school in Hamburg, NY. It was here, she met her future husband in the 8th grade and married Francis “Barrie” Lyden in 1962. Together they raised three children, started various business endeavors, and Kathleen, a loving wife and mother, proudly took great care of her home, husband, and family. She pursued interests and hobbies outside of the home that included, her dedication to her church, her love of cooking, completed 5 marathons, and was a self-taught ornithologist: spending countless hours studying bird songs, flight patterns, physical appearance, and migration patterns of birds.
She will be remembered and missed by her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, who tirelessly cared for her until the very end; her beloved children, Mark (Kat) Lyden, Rachel (Chris) Kartanowitz and Colleen Sukloff; her dear grandchildren, Emily, Olivia (Ruslan), Truman, Noah, Max, Leslie, and Heather; and her siblings, Adair Pearson, and Carol Syracuse.
A memorial funeral service will be held on a future date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Skyway Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens. www.skywaymemorial.com.
