Mrs. Louise L Konkey's Obituary
Louise L Konkey, 75, of Sun City Center, FL, departed this life on September 14th, 2016 with her husband Richard by her side and went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Louise was born in Wichita, Kansas on November 3rd, 1940 to Harold and Alice Hawkinson. At age 20 she married Richard H Konkey on February 11th, 1961 and relocated to Michigan City, IN. They purchased their home in Sun City Center, Florida in April of 1989 and became residents of FL in 2000.
She and Richard are the parents of Richard A. (Jill) Konkey and John H. (Melissa) Konkey and are grandparents of Laura, Andrew, and Sarah Konkey. Louise is survived by her husband Richard with over 55 years of marriage, and their children, one sister Chris (Lowell) Twining, and several sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many nephews and nieces and many other family members.
Louise was a bookkeeper in industry and the secretary/bookkeeper and partner/owner with her husband Richard in their electrical contracting firm, Konkey Electric, Inc.
The main things that everyone will remember Louise for was her smile, her intellect, her dependability, her honesty, her helpfulness, her tenderness, and mainly for being a 24/7 – unconditional Christian. Louise was loved by everyone who knew her.
Louise died from complications caused by Parkinson’s disease and was burdened with it for over fifty five years. She fought this very difficult disease with bravery and dignity.
In lieu of flowers her family is encouraging donations be made to The Tower Fund at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 818 Franklin St., Michigan City, IN 46360.
A Christian Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sun City Center United Methodist Church located at 1210 Del Web Blvd. W, Sun City Center, FL, 33573.
