I am saddened to learn about Mabel's sudden passing. She and I were college classmates at GWU. Reconnecting with Mabel at our 25th college reunion was such a joyful experience. In recent years we exchanged holiday greetings, and I always looked forward to seeing her signature with the characteristic paw print beside it. I admired Mabel's compassion for animals and her active engagement in animal welfare. I will remember her with fondness.
I am so sorry to hear of Mabel's death. She was a college roommate of mine and I enjoyed her independent spirit and love of animals. It was great to see her at a reunion several years ago in DC and catch up with her. Kathy Dowd
