Mary Virginia Antico's Obituary
Mary Virginia Antico, 98, passed away May 24th, 2014. She was born December 24th, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Albin and Mary (Mudra) Sandstrom. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; brother, John; and son-in-law, Artur.
Mary spent her life as a missionary in Brazil and Portugal. Even after her husband’s passing back in November of 1970, she went back the mission field. She retired to Missionary Village in Bradenton in 1987. Mary enjoyed reading and calligraphy.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, David Antico and his wife Rebecca of Church Road, Virginia, their children (Mary's grandchildren) Randie Snow, Natasha Rogers, Daniel Antico, and Donald Antico, as well as 3 great-grandchildren (the children of Natasha); son, Dennis Antico and his wife Charlene of Lacey Spring, Alabama, their children (Mary's grandchildren) Tammy Antico and Jonny Antico, as well as 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren from Tammy Antico; daughter, MariLynn Antico Monteiro of Faro, Portugal, her children (Mary's grandchildren) Miguel Monteiro, Joao Monteiro, and Daniel Monteiro; niece, Judy Gannoe and her husband Terrance of Sparks, Nevada; nephew, Jack Sandstrom of Warren, Pennsylvania.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, June 1st, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church, 3321 63rd Avenue East, Bradenton, Florida 34203. Interment will be at Skyway Memorial Gardens, 5200 US Highway 19 North, Palmetto, Florida 34203.
