Mary Rivers' Obituary
Mary Alma Rivers also known as "Sister" peacefully passed away on November 4th, 2023.
Born on March 12th, 1945, Mary was raised in the small town of Walterboro, South Carolina. She eventually moved down south and became a resident of Ft Lauderdale, Florida. She was known for her infectious laugh and strong resilient personality. She loved cooking during the holidays and spending time with family. Mary spent the latter of her years in Palmetto, FL surrounded by unconditional love with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her favorite classic tv shows or just sitting in the outdoors with nature, living a peaceful carefree life.
Mary is preceded in death by husband the late Herbert Rivers, her life partner Johnathan kerson, and her only Son David J. Scriven, Mother: Mariah Foulk; Brothers: Sylvester Scriven, Madison Scriven.
She is survived by siblings: Annie R (Willie) Parker, Louis Scriven, Stanley(Jessirita) Scriven, Carol Reshenda (Willie) Lemelle and Regina Foulk.
She was the Beloved grandmother to Chela Presha, Lacoya Presha (Ashley), David Scriven, Davien Scriven and Thomas Barbar; An adored great grandmother of O'riyan Bozeman, Riley Presha Hughes and Ivy Parker Barber.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends whom shared so many great memories and moments with her.
A private Visitation will be held Saturday 11/18/2023 from 11am-12pm at skyway memorial 5200 US Highway 19 Palmetto FL 34221
