Mervin W. Gingerich's Obituary
Mervin W. Gingerich, 92, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away July 20, 2015 at the Sunnyside Nursing Home. He was born August 14, 1922 in Burton, Ohio to the late William and Barbara (Yoder) Gingerich. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Freeman and Simon; and sister, Sylvia.
He was baptized in the Amish Church in 1940. On April 10, 1949, he married Alma Shrock in Burton, Ohio. He moved to Sarasota in 1971 and was a faithful member of the Sunnyside Mennonite Church.
Left to cherish his memory are Alma, their children, Marvin, Mervin Jr. and Angela; and 2 grandsons, Josh and Jake all of New Smyrna, Florida; brother, Bill of Burton, Ohio; six sisters, Sarah Shrock of Catlett, Virginia, Barbara Kauffman of Burton, Ohio, Alma Miller of Middlefield, Ohio, Cora Byler of Catlett, Virginia, Ida Miller of Middlefield, Ohio and Wilma Byler of Panama, New York.
There will be a visitation Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 1001 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Mennonite Cemetery.
