She was the eighth of 12 siblings and attended Harding High School in Marion, Ohio. Myrtle came to know Jesus Christ as her savior at the age of 9. Myrtle and Fred married on June 15,1957 and they had three children, Don, Nancy and Pam.
Myrtle was a 45-year member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Marion, where she served as the church secretary and an Awana leader. One of her greatest joys was working alongside her best friend at a Christian preschool. Together, Myrtle and Fred spent three years serving at the mission guesthouse in Quito, Ecuador. After returning from Ecuador, Myrtle and Fred decided to settle in Cherokee Village, AR. They built a house designed by Myrtle on the banks of Lake Sequoyah and spent 17 years there. They were members of First Baptist Church Cherokee Village during that time, until they moved to their current home in Bradenton, FL to be closer to family. All her years, Myrtle was a faithful prayer warrior to her family, friends, and all those God brought into her life.
