NORMA “LILY” BAKER
February 13, 1936-September 12, 2022
Norma Lily passed away at the age of 86 in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves behind her son Sidney Baker and daughter-in-law Andrea, daughter Belva Boyes
and their father Gerald Baker. She also leaves a beautiful legacy of grandchildren. The Baker clan includes Whitney, Jerald, Matthias and Romain. The Boyes grandkids are Kathleen and Gabriel. She was also blessed with two sweet great-granddaughters, Auburn Lily and Sawyer Ruth. She is survived by her dear brother Rev. Ernest Gault and sister-in-law Deanna. Norma also leaves her cherished furry companion, Boo Kitty. Norma led a rich and full life, faithfully serving the Lord as a missionary for 35 years along with her husband and Bible College sweet-heart, Rev. Gerald Baker. They served together in Pennsylvania, New England and P.E.I., Canada. She was a beautiful musician and was active as the church pianist, organist, and Sunday school teacher. She loved making Sunday school “fun” for the children Being creative was Norma’s passion. She was an artist, decorator, and professional floral designer. She was the head florist and decorator of the Mt. Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH where everyone called her Lily the Florist. She especially loved October and decorating for fall with pumpkins, cornstalks, scarecrows and fall leaves. Norma retired and volunteered at the Bradenton Missionary Village in Bradenton, FL. She was active as a musician in their chapel services and decorating the dinning room for each holiday and season. Her family will always remember how much she enjoyed the holidays. They will miss her homemade bread, pies and secret recipe family sugar cookies affectionately known as “GramGram” sugar cookies.
Funeral services have been cancelled by the family. Private burial will be monday.
